Do People Even Still Look at my Blog?

Hello Friends, It has been 3 years since I've been on this blog and posted anything, is there even still anyone out there? Well, about 3 years ago I made a career change and then about 1 year ago I decided that particular job just wasn't working out for me! So I quite, started to babysit from home and then once my daughter started Kindergarten this year I was blessed to find the perfect job with the perfect hours, perfect pay and absolutely no stress! I'm able to see my daughter and husband in the morning before work and school, I'm able to pick my daughter up from school and I'm able to enjoy my afternoons and weekends with her without having to worry about work (Don't worry though, I have plenty of other things to do, Church Primary President, PTA, Girls Scouts, getting my real estate license, my card making business and many other things!).

Anyways, I'm really loving my crafting and want to be able to share it with everyone so I figured I'd start adding pictures and info here!

To start here are some cards I've made for an upcoming Stamp A Stack I'm doing in honor of Thanksgiving. Who ever has enough Thank You cards, right?!! Check out my facebook page HERE if you want details on the fun class. I am totally in love with this first card. I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set from Stampin Up and used the colors Crushed Curry and Smoky Slate. I am planning on trying it out with some other colors this week, I'm thinking melon mambo and smoky slate or elegant eggplant and baked brown sugar! Any other color suggestions, let me know and if I love it I might even send you a completed card?!!

I couldn't get them all to turn and I really didn't feel like spending too much time on it (I know, I'm lazy sometimes). Anyways, I'm hoping to post at least weekly on here what I've been working on and trying a new technique and letting you know what I think about it. Maybe if I have time I'll even do some of those design or color card challenges that always look so awesome!!! Let me know what you think of my creations!!!

Cake Decorating

So, I know I've neglected this blog for awhile (okay a year or so!), but I have decided that I'm going to post some craft or thing I've done at least once a week! It might be something I did a long time ago but at lease it will be something right?! Anyways, I thought I'd start off with the Cake Decorating class that I took in March. I was inspired to take this class after I did the cupcakes for Zoey's birthday (see post here). I really enjoyed taking the class and defiantly learned A LOT from it! I hope to be able to take the next couple classes but I had to take a little break in between (making and decorating a cake EVERY week on top of everything else was getting a little much). So, anyone around here that has a birthday or special even coming up, let me know! I can now decorate cakes!!

This is the first cake we did. We learned how to make all the stars (which is what the rainbow is made out of). I love these colors too, they're probably one of my favorite shades.
I thought I did a pretty good job for my first cake!! I can do a lot of cool and fun things just with this one tip. I think we might have to celebrate half birthdays this year just so I don't have to wait so long to make a cake for Clay or Zoey!

This was the next cake I made. Disclaimer,...this cake was not for looks as much as it was practicing the technique. I'm not so good at those flowers on top but I'm going to practice because in the book they look amazing! I left this cake at the store for the employees to eat because we didn't need another cake at my house (remember, I had to make a cake each week for class!!!)

This is my friend, Rochelle, who sat next to me in class. We bonded on the first class and had a blast the rest of the weeks! She made some great cakes and if our schedules work out then we'll take the next class together in May (hopefully I'll be able to do it that soon).
For the last class we did the rose cake. Of course, I forgot to take pictures and so I have none to show you but I thought mine actually turned out pretty decent! We were so tired of cake by the time that class came around that it sat on my kitchen counter for almost two weeks before we finally just threw it away!
I had a great time taking this class and am excited to see what kind of things I can do with it in the future!

Pics from My First Free Card Night

I had such a good time at my first free card night. Honestly I wish I'd had a few more people show up but I had a blast with the ladies that did come. Here are a few pictures of the ladies that came and one of the cards they made...

For RSVPing my guests each got to pick a little gift. Below is one of the sets. Each had the little pad of paper, the matching pen, mini m&m's and there's a small stamp in each one. I had a fun putting these together for each of the ladies.
Keep an eye out tomorrow night for a post with closeups of the cards and a little bit of how they were made!

Free Card Night Sneak Peak

So, this Friday night and Saturday morning I am holding my first "Free Card Night." It's a come and go as you want time where you get to make 3 cards and see my new place! I thought I might give a little sneak peak as to what I have in store. I have already cut out all the needed pieces and have it all separated, doesn't it look like fun (that's all the pieces to 20 each of 3 cards)! I also added a picture of the cute RSVP gifts that I made, this is just the start (thank you to everyone who RSVP'd). I have a few more ideas brewing in my head to make this weekend wonderful for everyone. Check below for details on the activity and please drop by if can! Don't worry, I made enough for everyone!
